D.C. students must register
(Published July 24, 2006)

Registration and residency verification are underway now through Aug. 17 for students enrolled in D.C. Public Schools.

D.C. law requires verification of residency each year for students to enroll free in the public schools. Officials said that process must be completed by Aug. 18 for students already enrolled, who plan to continue attending city schools when the new academic year begins Aug. 28.

Original documentation is required and must be presented in person to prove residency. Each student is required to submit an Annual Student Enrollment Form at the school the student attends or will be attending this fall.

Administrative offices at schools will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accept the enrollment forms and verify residency. School offices will remain open until 6 p.m. July 27 and Aug. 3.
